Welcome to Bukhara

Cinematic brand film for the city of Bukhara, Uzbekistan — and the first collaboration with director Mukhlisa Azizova.

Shot between the historic walls, inner courtyards and rooftops of one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Central Asia, the film sees itself less as a classical tourism film and more as an atmospheric promotional piece for the identity and cultural radiance of Bukhara.

The focus does not lie on landmarks alone, but on light, texture and movement: warm adobe architecture, geometric ornaments, dust in the afternoon sun, the echo of narrow alleys and the calm of old courtyards. The film tries to make the soul of a city tangible — not only its postcard motifs.

The collaboration with Mukhlisa Azizova marked the beginning of several further joint projects in Uzbekistan and beyond.
